Raymond "Mickey" Breazeale's Obituary
Raymond “Mickey” Breazeale passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. He was born in Madisonville, LA on August 4, 1953 to his parents Norman and Libby Breazeale.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Pat Stewart Breazeale; his children, Michael and Justin Sr; grandchildren Dakota Plunkett (Nick) and Justin Jr. He is also survived by his siblings, Tommy Breazeale (Denise), Leslie Longbottom (Roger) and Diane Guillory (Joe). He's also survived by many nieces and nephews and his forever loyal furbaby Addy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret “Libby" Breazeale and Norman Alexander Breazeale, Jr. and brother Norman Alexander "Al" Breazeale III.
Mickey was a proud retired veteran who served 22 years in the USAF in law enforcement. During those 22 years he was stationed in Texas, Taipei Taiwan, Madrid Spain and his last 9 years Washington DC working in the Pentagon. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force he returned home to Mandeville where he worked with the St Tammany Sheriff’s Office reserve division until going full time where he retired after 16 years.
In retirement, Mickey found a love of the outdoors and became an avid camper and kayaker. He also found an interest in nature that was fulfilled by gardening where he began growing his own vegetables and raising chickens.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 16 in Covington and loved working their Friday morning bingos. Mickey also volunteered with "Operation We Care", packing boxes of goodies being sent to military personnel stationed overseas.
He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Abita Springs where he was on its council, an usher and a handyman in anything needed.
He was a man who saw the world in his family and loved them with a fierceness that was unmatched by anything on this planet and so he will also be missed by all who knew and loved him especially his Addy Baby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mickey may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Abita Springs going towards their new building fund.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM with visitation on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
