I met Marcel for the first time in 1953 at age 17, at National Guard weekend drill that was held on the old K..P. Airport on the Ramsay Road(Hwy. 25).. I was told to take something to Corporal Valois who was a radio operator. I thought they had said Cpl. Bow Wow and when I asked if he was Cpl. Bow Wow, he laughed so hard and then corrected me. Mab & Marcel were our neighbors on West 20th Avenue back in the late 50's. Marcel's mother gave my oldest son a 1957 Chevy when he was a teenager after she got too old to drive anymore. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. A good friend and a great man.
I miss seeing him on my evening rides in my golf cart. Passing his house, we enjoyed talking about his cat and beautiful garden. Interesting and warm southern gentleman.
