Linda Margaret Frere Bounds' Obituary
Linda Margaret Frere Bounds, at the age of 86, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. She was born on August 30, 1939 in Madisonville, Louisiana to Ethlyn Goldate Frere and John Alexander Frere.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert “Bobby” Bounds, after 65 years of marriage; her parents and her siblings ; John Alexander Frere Jr., Roger Frere, and Kevin Frere.
Linda is survived by her children, Michael Bounds (Gina), Greg Bounds, and Tim Bounds (Sherri); grandchildren, Morgan Bounds Cole (Evan), Brianna Bounds, Devin Bounds (Zuzanna), Megan Bounds Graziano (Jason), Jacob Bounds, and Lauren Bounds; and great-grandchildren, Charlie Bounds and Benjamin Bounds. She is also survived by her siblings, Sandra Frere Mendow, Doris “Dottie” Frere Lopez, and Charolette Frere Bourg; a host of nieces and nephews; and wonderful lifelong friends.
Linda was the guiding light and anchor to her family. She was a proud and exceptional homemaker pouring her entire heart into caring for her husband, three sons and her home. Her kitchen was the heart of the family and her door always open to anyone in need of a listening ear , a good conversation over a cup of coffee or a home cooked meal. Her legacy will live on in the lives of not only her children but grandchildren , her beloved sisters along with all of her dear friends. She leaves behind a family who will forever miss her gentle spirit and sweet soul.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Monday 7/27/26 starting at 11:00am at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St Mary Street, Madisonville, LA, with visitation beginning at 10:00am until service time. Interment will take place following the service at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery, Dendinger M & Hwy 21, Madisonville, LA.
You are all invited by the family to a reception to celebrate the life of Linda at St. Joseph Hall located adjacent to St Anselm Catholic Church immediately after the burial services are completed.
