Lila Shaw Chambliss' Obituary
Lila Shaw Chambliss, age 103, of Gulfport, Mississippi, a longtime resident of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026. She was born on January 12, 1923, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Gene Chambliss (Marcia) and Cindy Williston (Robert); grandchildren, Ashley Huebel (Cliff), Blair Foxworth (Charlie), Megan Butler (Eric), and Paul Williston (Megan); 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Kirk Chambliss; her parents, Roger F. Shaw and Thelma McChesney Shaw Dudley; brothers, Roger F. “Happy” Shaw, Jr. and Tiley McChesney Shaw.
Lila had a zeal for life and enjoyed time with her family, friends and neighbors. She loved to dance, cook, swim and travel.
She had a remarkable memory of the details of all family member’s birthdays, anniversaries, wedding gifts, spouses, etc.
She will sadly be missed by all who knew and loved her as she is reunited with God and her loving husband Paul.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Chambliss may be made to a charity of your choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in the adjacent Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
