Joyce T. Boudreaux's Obituary
MJ was born on December 17, 1928 in Thibodaux, La. and was a lifelong resident of Thibodaux.
MJ passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022 in her current home in Covington, La.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Randal James and Donna Boudreaux; her daughter and son in law, Robyn and Chris Labat; her beloved, granddaughter and grandson in law, Abby and Phillip Smith; her precious, great grandson, Austin Christopher Smith along with numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Robert Francis Boudreaux; her parents, Fredrick Gilbert Chiasson and Louise Talbot Chiasson and her sisters, Helen Chiasson Arceneaux and Betty Ann Chiasson Berger.
MJ was a trained Dental Assistant and worked in her early years of marriage. Her true passion was her family and she was blessed to be able to be home to raise her 2 children. She immensely enjoyed her only grandchild and was an influential and very loving grandmother for Abby who endearing called her MJ.
She was an extremely strong and stoic woman and became such a positive role model for all in her family. She was the heart of our family home and patiently cared for her family with loving guidance and wisdom. She was an avid reader and an amazing cook. Her idea of a good time was good company, mixed with great cocktails and great food!
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her but we know she is at peace alongside her beloved husband.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11th at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, 721 Canal Boulevard, Thibodaux, LA 70301 from 10 am until Mass at 11 am. Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, 949 Menard St., Thibodaux, LA 70301.
