Joseph Glen King's Obituary
Joseph Glen King, age 79, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1946, in Covington, Louisiana.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany King Arnold; grandchildren, Cohl, Piper, and J.J.; siblings, Robert King (Dianne), Sharon King Nelson (Herbert), and Barbara King Bruns; caretaker, Linda King-Backert; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle King and Mary Lou Myres King; daughter, Ashley King; and siblings, William R. “Bill” King, John E. King, Ronald M. King, Dennis R. King, Tina King Nichols, and Marilyn King Grisham.
Joe grew up in Bush, Louisiana, attended Lee Road School, and graduated from Covington High School in 1966. He trained thoroughbred horses for many years across several states including Arkansas, Kentucky, and Louisiana. After his retirement from horse training, Joe worked as a blackjack dealer at Horseshoe Casino in Bossier City, Louisiana. He also loved to cook, specifically seafood and steaks.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Maryetta Cemetery, Maryetta Road, Bush, Louisiana.
