Uncle Jim, to me, was full of mischief and fun. He missed Aunt Connie and the loving relationship they shared.
I am so happy to have known him and his family. They are, to me, what a true family should be. The good, the bad, and the ugly; whatever came their way, they dealt with it and continued to love and support each other in the end.
Uncle Jim will be missed dearly by many of us.
I remember back in 1965, I was seven years old. Jim and Connie arrived at our house in Thibodaux in a 1965 blue corvette stingray. What a fine car. I ran into his arms and he lifted me high above his head into the air and held me there. I remember looking around in wonder as I had never been off the ground at that height before. It seemed as though the whole world was below me. I believe that may be the reason I live in the mountains of Colorado to this day.

Uncle Jim and Aunt Connie felt to me like second parents. I, and all of my siblings, loved them both deeply. They were always there to welcome us with a smile and a hug, and they loved us deeply as well. Once when we our family experienced an unexpected crisis, Uncle Jim drove in the middle of the night, with Aunt Connie by his side, 3 or 4 hours to come and be with us. I can never forget such selfless love. It was so comforting to have him and Aunt Connie there with us during such a difficult time.
Uncle Jim would take us for rides on his motor cycle when we were kids. We always had fun when we were with him and Aunt Connie. May his soul be filled with joy, with peace, and may he be fully united with God always.
I had the honor and privilege of knowing and working for Uncle Jim for most of his time in Covington. What a gentleman! I enjoyed him talking about the days when he and Aunt Connie were young, all the dances, their travels, and how much he enjoyed entertaining the family at his house. He made me part of his family. He lived a long wonderful live and now is with his beloved Connie.
Uncle Jim, I’ll never forget you, you will always be in my prayers and heart.
