Hoffman DeWitt Hibbett's Obituary
Hoffman DeWitt Hibbett, age 88, of Covington passed away Thursday morning, May 20, 2021. He was born September 30, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Hoffman DeWitt Hibbett Sr. and Lydie Champagne Hibbett.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Kathleen Hibbett, his loving children, Wendell, Hoffman “Rick” and Gwendolyn, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Hoffman is preceded in death by his son Keith.
Hoffman lived the majority of his life in Lafayette and Covington. He had a long career in the oil and gas industry and also designed and built homes until his retirement in 2000.
Hoffman enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, driving and owning classic cars and trucks, and being outdoors. He was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington.
Hoffman was a kind, caring man who cherished his family dearly. He was well loved and respected in the community. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 12:00 PM (masks required). Visitation begins at 10:30AM. Interment will follow services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Covington, Louisiana.
