Harold "Chip" William Mowery II's Obituary
Harold “Chip” William Mowery II, at the age of 54, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026. He was born on August 20, 1971, in Winchester, Virginia to Linda Ellyet and Harold William Mowery.
Chip is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Jennifer Ellen Mowery. He is also survived by his children, Alexis Mowery, Samantha “Sami” Mowery; step-children, Emily Ellen and David Fareid, his mother, Linda Mowery; sister in-law, Elizabeth Ellen; brother in-law, Garey Engle; nephews, Oliver and Henry Engle and wonderful lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold William Mowery.
Chip grew up in Winchester, VA but made Louisiana his true “home” 8 years ago. He loved everything about the area - most importantly Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras parades as well as the amazing food and the friendly southern hospitality. He was never found to be without a smile or a goofy, fun face and was a calming, friendly presence to everyone he met. Chip’s whole world was his wife and his girls and loved nothing more than to brag about them through social media. While not growing up a musician, once his girls became interested in music that became his main focus. Not only was he an active member and volunteer with the Covington High School band boosters, he would also be found at every performance and every football game as the girls’ biggest fan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Chip may be made to Greater Covington Band Boosters, Inc., P.O. Box 3688, Covington, LA 70434
