Frank “Coach” Dalferes passed away peacefully with his wife and two daughters by his side. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 56 years, Susie Neelis Dalferes; his two daughters Mimi Marino (the late Tony) and Sis Read Obituary
I was pleased to have run track with Frank at Metairie High School especially the 440 relay. He was really fast and that made him one of the best football team members as well. Frank attended the Metairie High School Alumni Association's Annual Reuniion year before last. He seemed pleased to be with so many of his old friends who all enjoyed trading their sports events with him.

Sorry for your loss of Coach Dalferes. I remember so well how he had that great military voice when trying to get us EJ cheerleaders to quiet down in the gym, then turn around and buy donuts from us! He was a great coach for all of us.

I played football (running back) at East Jefferson High School (1969-1971) under Coach Dalferes. Our senior year we were one of the few EJ teams to go undefeated at 10-0. Coach was a serious disciplinarian and pushed us to be the best and we were. Saw him at the EJ State Championship game in the Superdome and discussed our great team. Sad to learn of his passing and wish to extend my sincere condolences to the family.
