Donnie T. Giarrusso Sr.'s Obituary
Donnie T. Giarrusso, Sr. passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. He was 74, a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Mandeville. He was born on June 13, 1951.
He is survived by his wife, Candy Dale Giarrusso; his children, Donnie T. Giarrusso Jr. and Angela Giarrusso Lowery (John), and his granddaughter, Hannah Giarrusso (Johnny). He is also survived by his siblings Ronald Giarrusso (JoAnn), Charice Gilmore (Dave), Tammy Sivori (Tommy), Michael Giarrusso (Debbie), Jerry Giarrusso, Ray Allen Giarrusso and Cindy Calub (Lindsay).
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur P. Giarrusso and Clare Fossier Giarrusso; and siblings, Wilbur “Billy” Giarrusso and Pam Gilbert.
He was loved and admired by all who knew him. A constant source of kindness, he had a special habit of sending brief messages to friends and family just to brighten their day — a small gesture that meant more than he ever realized. He devoted decades to the glass industry, where he earned deep respect for his work ethic and character before retiring. More than anything, he will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, sense of humor, his love of music (especially the Beatles), and the way he made people feel loved and cared for. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA 70433 on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM with visitation on day beginning at 9:00 AM.
