Vera Gayle Boutwell Traina

May 3, 1952 - December 30, 2021

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Vera Gayle Boutwell Traina. Vera “Gayle” passed on Thursday, December 30, 2021. She was born on May 3, 1952 in Kosziusko, MS to the late Clifton Boutwell and Christine Rawson Boutwell. Gayle was raised in Harahan, LA then later moved to Folsom, LA. Gayle was the beloved wife of Charles “Bubba” Traina, Sr. for 34 years. She was the loving mother of Tanya Roux Nelson (John) and Charles “B.J.” Traina, Jr. She was the proud grandmother of Brandi Nelson and Colin Waguespack. She was the sister of Resa Diane Valley, Carrie Jane Tregre (the late Allen), and the late Rebecca Carol Spiess. Gayle touched the lives of many people. Everyone who encountered her, loved her. Gayle was a hairdresser for many years before entering in to the home healthcare field. She was truly a caregiver. She loved and defended her family, and those who knew her, knew her humor, quick wit, and sass. We take comfort in knowing that Gayle is now in peace, and will be missed tremendously. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM PM with visitation from 12:00 Noon until service time.
