Jilma Orellana Pineda went to be with her Lord and Savior while surrounded by her family on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the age of 53. Beloved wife of 30 years to Luis Ernesto Pineda. Loving mother of Daniel Ernesto Pineda (Courtney), Luis Fernando Pineda and Ivon Damaris Pineda. Daughter of Francisca Esperanza Flores and Miguel Orellana. Sister of Maria Teresa Zabala, Alicia Esperanza Orellana, Mauricio Orellana, Miguel Orellana, Henry Orellana and Laura Marina Miranda. Grandmother of Lukas Ernesto Pineda. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Jilma “Jimmy” was born in El Salvador in 1965 where she was raised by her mother Esperanza and loving Grandparents. At the young age of 15 she did not realize she would meet the love of her life and the father of her three amazing children. This love blossomed into a beautiful, devoted and ever-lasting marriage in 1988. In 2000 this young couple arrived in New Orleans reuniting with family. As young parents, Jilma and Luis determined to create an unforgettable life for their children decided to move to Covington in 2005. This was the start of many years of love, happiness and the creation of the family life long sought after. This life included a fulfilling career of 13 years in the medical department at Avondale Ship Yard. As a resident of Covington, she transitioned into a second career as a teacher in child development. Despite her dedication to her students, family was her primary passion, this passion was nurtured through family gatherings. She found joy in dancing, listening to family stories, and seeing the happiness in everyone as they ate her world famous Pupusas. There was nothing more important to her than her children. Her children created moments of joy, pride and unmeasurable love. There was no joy or love greater than when she became a Grandmother. Her Grandson became the new motivation in her life. Jilma will be remembered as a Mother, Wife, Sister, Grandmother and amazing friend to all who knew her. She inspired love in all, and all loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Friday beginning at 12:00 noon.
