James Emile Johnson

September 13, 1934 - May 11, 2022

James Emile Johnson age 87, of Braithwaite, entered eternal rest peacefully on morning of Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at The Trace at Claiborne Hill, senior living center in Covington, Louisiana, surrounded by his friends. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 13, 1934 to Emile James Johnson and Alma Alonzo Johnson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Jymme Johnson Strander( Blaine). James was the proud grandfather of Shane Strander and Tristan Ranatza (Asherly); proud great grandfather to, Sage Ranatza, Deaglan Ranatza, Amariyah Ranatza and Octavian Ranatza. He is also survived and missed by a host of life long and new retirement friends he cherished. James is preceded in death by his parents, Emile James Johnson and Alma Alonzo Johnson; and his wife, Sybil Jones Johnson. James was humble, kind, and most of all a very caring person to all. He proudly served in the United States National Guard. He enjoyed spending time in his woodwork shop. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. James was unique, well liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
