A. W. Dutruch
March 14, 1941 - April 22, 2022
A.W. Dutruch passed away on April 22, 2022 at the age of 81. He was born on March 14, 1941 in Blond, Louisiana to the late Maurice and Belva Dutruch. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Ruthann Dutruch, their three daughters, Kalinda Fauntleroy (Brent), Danita Fauntleroy (Kevin), and Karri Rogers (Danny). His seven grandchildren, LeEllen Candies (Jon), Sara Overmier (Zeb), Cole Fauntleroy (Shayna), Abby and Kyle Fauntleroy, Haley and Luke Rogers, and two great-grandsons, James Fauntleroy and Ezra Overmier, with two great-granddaughters on the way. A.W. is survived by four other siblings, Delores Fegan, Janet Patin, Hollis Dutruch, and Connie Williams. He was preceded in death by his younger sister Joan Davis (Larry “Corky”). He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed traveling and upon retirement was able to fulfill his dream of building a cabin in Colorado. He spent 15 summers there. A.W. loved Jesus, knew Him intimately, and wanted to be sure that those around him knew the healing and saving power of Jesus, too. His number one priority on this earth was to love and provide for his family. He was an incredibly talented carpenter and craftsman. There was nothing that he couldn’t do with his hands. And like his Saviour, he would stop what he was doing to help someone in need. After his long career in the construction field, he retired but continued to give freely of his gifts and talents as he faithfully volunteered his time and energy to Campers on Mission, whose work is dedicated to improving Southern Baptist Camp sites across Louisiana. His friends and family will always remember his quick wit and impeccable work ethic. Friends and family are invited to the Celebration of His Life and legacy at New Zion Baptist Church on Monday, April 25, 2022. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a service at 2:00 PM. The interment will take place immediately following the service in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to share a meal following all ceremonies at the Family Ministry Center and New Zion Baptist Church. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at STPH who loving and patiently cared for him the past two months. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the Campers on Mission Ministry. New Zion Baptist Church will collect donations on behalf of the family. Please designate COM on any donations. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign the E.J. Fielding Funeral Home online Guest Book at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
