Michael Peter Brooks

Michael “Mike” Peter Brooks passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, in Mandeville, LA, at the age of 80. He was born on April 11, 1939, in San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Brooks, Mary Catherine Francis Fitzgerald Gaines, wife, Sharon Lee Brooks, brother and two older siblings, Joseph Andrew Brooks and sister, Catherene Mary Phillips. Michael is the beloved husband of Anne Worthington Blythe Brooks of 28 years. He was the loving father of Michael James Brooks, spouse, Jacqueline Sue Brooks, Christopher Edward “Ed” Brooks, spouse, Rechelle Diaz Brooks, and Gregory “Greg” Martin Brooks, spouse, Kimberly Averette Brooks. He was stepfather to David Hamilton Rogers, Kathryn Blythe Rogers Oubre and Jeffrey Hughes Rogers. He was the proud grandfather of LeAnne Brooks, Ashley Brooks, Madison McKee and Leandra Gilbert, Claire Brooks, Cole Brooks, Merric Brooks, Mychaela Ryan, Hannah Ryan and Greyson Brooks, Haven Rogers, Bella Rogers and Maxon Rogers, Caroline Oubre, Preston Oubre and Olivia Oubre, Devin Deselle, Lucas Rogers, Joshua Rogers and Ryleigh Rogers. Michael was a proud Marine Corps veteran, a master teacher of Tai Chi, and was a project manager at Riverbend Nuclear Power Plant. He was an avid reader and was known for his terrific jokes and humor. He easily had jokes to tell for any occasion. He attended the University of California, Berkeley and was a graduate of San Diego State University.
