Judith Ann Barbour Sharpe

Judith Ann Barbour Sharpe, age 76, peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by her loving family at St. Tammany Parish Hospital on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Judy was born in Denver, Colorado to Walter Philip Barbour and Mary Holm Barbour on August 19, 1946 and grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Lecia Douglas Sharpe, and her children Michael, Joseph, Joshua (Rachel), Mary Sharpe Goss (Clint); and Elizabeth Sharpe Gomes. Judy was the proud grandmother of Timothy and Christine Gomes (D.J.), Clare, Annie, Peter and Lucy Goss, and Ryder, Bayla and Zayn Sharpe. She was the caring sister of Kirol, Vivian, Philip, Mary Jane, Theresa, Alice, as well as her twin sister Joan and brothers Charles Gerard and John who, along with her parents, preceded her into God’s kingdom. Judy will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. A resident of Bush, Louisiana for over 40 years, Judy served in the United States Army Reserve as member of the Army Nurse Corp. She was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant on August 11, 1982. Judy was an outstanding, well-respected nurse who dedicated her time and talents to her patients’ care before concentrating her efforts on her true calling and vocation as a wife and mother. Judy was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very faith-filled woman, steadfast in her devotion to the Blessed Mother and our Lord, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed her garden and reading; however, her true passion was spending time with her family, her friends, and her beloved cats. Judy was one of a kind. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will live on in her children and grandchildren as well as in the many memories of her friends and family until they meet again. The Sharpe family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by St. Tammany Parish Hospital’s Hospice Unit.
