Jon Paul McIntyre

Jon Paul McIntyre, “Jon-Jon” at the age of 30 tragically entered eternal rest on Tuesday morning of August 30, 2022. He was born in Covington, Louisiana on February 29, 1992, to John McIntyre and Dione Cole Rogers. He is survived by his grief-stricken mother, Dione Rogers her husband, William “Billy” Rogers Jr., his brother, Jeff McIntyre and his wife, Amanda McIntyre, his sister, Winter McIntyre, and niece, Jodie James. Jon was the devoted grandson of Sylvia Cole. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful lifelong friends that also called him brother. Jon is preceded in death by lifelong girlfriend, Dara Jones, his father, John McIntyre grandfather, John Cole Jr., grandparents, Frank and Alice McIntyre, nephew, Bodie James, and many aunts and uncles. A native of Covington; longtime resident of Abita Springs for over 30 years, Jon graduated from Fontainebleau High School where he played football and was affectionately known as “Big Mac”. Jon worked as a talented Glass Glazier for Synergy Glass Company of Mandeville. He was a dedicated worker who loved his job and the people he worked with. As a young adult “Jon-Jon” embraced his love for all animals by volunteering at Northshore Humane Society. Jon was loving, compassionate and most of all a very caring person to all. He loved all animals, and they loved him. However, his true passion was about life and exploring its daily adventures with his dog Benzo. Jon was unique and irreplaceable, well liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His jovial spirit and big heart will remain in the many memoires of his cherished friends and family until they meet him again.
