Doris May Cummings Baio, 93 years old of Covington, LA passed away peacefully in her home at Restoration Senior Living on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. She was born on Thursday, January 17, 1929, in Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of Read Obituary
We met Doris when she moved into Restoration Senior Living. She and my mom Liz became the best of friends, she was the friend I had prayed would appear in my moms life. She brought such joy and happiness to everyone there. Doris always had a smile and a wink for those who spent time with her. She touched my heart in ways that only a true Angel could.
We will miss her in our lives but hold her in our hearts forever.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Doris. We met Ray and Doris while traveling to Amsterdam for a river cruise.
Mom was at her best with young children. Growing up in Indiana, she bought us a kiddy pool for the summer and made a tiny ice rink for us in the winter. I remember her time as my Cub Scout Den Mother. She also taxied me to my Little League baseball games. Upon moving to New Orleans, we had to get the waiter at Fitzgerald's to show us how to eat a crab. But before long, Mom was doing the whole N'awlins food thing. She enjoyed Mardi Gras and the Saints. She loved her grandchildren whether they were singing and dancing on the fireplace hearth or making snow angels in Destrehan. Mom was a talented artist. With some encouragement and support from her parents, she could have turned professional with her paintings. From her church, to square dancing and pig roasts in the barn, Mom enjoyed life. RIP, we love you!
Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones. Doris was a kind, loving and talented woman. I know she will be missed by everyone lucky enough to know her.
I know Raymond, Nannie & Uncle Sam, as well as her other loved ones in heaven were there to greet her at the pearly gates.
