Cheryle Draughon Mura

Cheryle Draughon Mura age of 70, entered eternal rest peacefully on the morning of July 9, 2022 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 27, 1952, to Michael I. Draughon Sr. and Audrey Foruria Draughon. Cheryle was the beloved wife of Merrill Mura for 47 wonderful years and adoring mother to her daughters, Tanya Mura Loflin (Brent) of Covington and Ashli Mura Du Conge’ (Jude) of Pearl River. Cheryle was the proudest grandmother of Kayla Bozant, Cameron Gomez, Emma Falco and Marlee Du Conge’, and a very devoted great grandmother of Ethan, Harper and Violet. She was the caring sibling of Scott Draughon. Cheryle is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and wonderful long life friends. Cheryle is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Audrey Draughon, and her brother Michael I. Draughon Jr. A native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Ponchatoula for over 15 years, Cheryle, graduated from Riverdale High School in 1970. Cheryle began her professional career at Colonial Bank in New Orleans, as a bank teller. She also worked at many branches of Metairie Bank until she retired around 1986. Cheryle was loving, compassionate, and most of all a very caring person to all. She was always the life of any party. However, her true passion was spending time with her loving family. Cheryle was unique and irreplaceable, well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her jovial spirit and tender nature will remain in the many memories of her cherished friends and family until they meet her again.
